3 Story HouseLocation: Germany
Scope services: Architectural Design
Date: May 2014
Set on a linear, rectangular strip of land with a backdrop of lush, green hills, this modern 3 story home is designed with a low, horizontal profile that sits gently on the land. The house is a series of projecting cubes, designed to maximize enjoyment of the beautiful surrounds. The slope of the site is used to maximum advantage, allowing an additional third level at the rear elevation, which opens out onto the natural landscape beyond. The lower level street-facing elevation is clad with tiles and concrete, anchoring the house to the ground. The second level is a combination of wood, tile, and concrete. The top-most level is mostly clad with wood, which is a visually lighter material. The landscape is simple, clean and unobtrusive, following the more modern language of the residence.
